I am an OFSTED registered childminder in the village of Kedington near Haverhill. I am Level 5 Qualified in Early Years Practice and work alongside my assistant, Kerry who is currently undertaking qualifications in her own right. The family home is well equipped with toys, books and resources to promote children’s well-being and development. We have an all-weather outdoor area with a play house, ride ons, slides and mud kitchen.
My husband and I have 2 boys; 5 and 7 years old who attend Kedington Primary Academy full time. They are very sociable and welcoming to new children and have formed some beautiful friendships with those who already attend. We also have a 12 year old sausage dog who likes to laze about in his own dedicated area.
I have good links with the local school and pre-school and will be offering drop-off and pick-ups to these.
I have recent Early Years experience working at a preschool. I have also previously worked as a Childminding assistant and within a nursery. I have been a breastfeeding peer supporter, working with babies and parents right from birth and upwards.
I have experience of sensory impairment with a qualification in both British Sign Language and Braille.
I worked for many years as a care assistant for adults with learning difficulties and with both children and adults with complex mental health needs.
I have (personal and professional) experience with breastfeeding / paced feeding of breast milk as well as formula feeding, cloth nappies and baby wearing.
